Hey, this is Mackelly, born `Kelvin Ngwang` in a lil ghettohood in North West Cameroon called Ndu town(which he popularies it as Ndu Yark City-NYC). Mackelly started listening to music as early as he was able to do so. His dad is a DJ. It was in 1993 that he listened to rap music and started giving much attention to it. By then his favourites were MC Hammer, Milli Vanilli, Bobby Brown, Tevin Campbell, Naughty by Nature, Queen Latifah, Kris Kross, Michael Jackson, Grand Master Slice, Chris de Burg and many other Old School acts. MacKelly turned his trouser front to back in 1996 while in form five influenced by the teenage rap duo `Kris Kross` and portrayed a rapper`s lifestyle without writing a rhyme. In 1998, MacKelly wrote his first song entitled `swear` under the influence of puppylove. Mackelly has performed many playbacks amongst which the most remarkable are heal the world by Michael Jackson, This luv by Donnel Jones, Rendez-vous by Craig David, I wish by R Kelly and many others which marked his ability to entertain a crowd. In 2000, MacKelly read an article on the Newsweek magazine on teenage violence which inspired him to write a song entitled `save the children` which underwent much lyrical modification and is part of the current project. In october 2003, Mackelly met a student Dj who reprogrammed Fabolous` into you instrumental on fruity loops. MacKelly practised on this beat and by february 2004, he performed it live alongside homegurl Lara who did the chorus. Many hip hop fans loved it and encouraged him to do his own thang. In april 2006 another cultural night was coming up so he rushed to Oxygen music store and compiled an 18 track hip hop instrumental cd. He performed dear mama by 2Pac with back up from Young Skyd and chorus by Clifford(who was supposed to be the Nate Dogg of the Crew). He replaced the last verse with the first verse of Rkelly`s `heaven I need a hug` and many rnb/hip hop fans appreciated it. In september 2006, Mackelly wrote an rnB song entitled `streets keep calling` under the influence of beef wit someone he loved and also by the way R.Kelly performed `heaven I need a hug`. He called his friend Young Skyd and told him to write a rap verse for the remix of streets keep calling. In October 2006, they met and freestyled on the prepared beat, MJ prooved his worth, so they decided to form a group that was lateron called `Fakulty Crew`. MJ led the group to Cacree( a Francophone student beatmaker) who composed the beat for streets keep calling. The song was lateron recorded at oxygen music store. Since then, the boys have been working on songs till MJ and Young Skyd graduated from the University and it was pretty hard to find the boys together. So they decided to embark on solo projects. Mackelly is vibrating with a debut introductory album while the Fakulty crew album will be available in early 2009.
